I have been enough of a soft touch with my nephew - not dear. It is the middle one that went to Indy with us when dh had surgery.

I have gotten 3 - $6.00 reverse charge phone calls from him. He says he will pay but we will see. He is only to call if it is an emergency.

He was a passenger in a car that was stopped on the 5th for a traffic violation. They ran his license too and it came up with a warrant in Chicago so of course the officer took him with him. The first call I refused 3 times, I knew it was from a facility because they announce it. By the third time I knew it had to be one of the boys because I'm the only one they can contact because I'm the only one with a landline.

He needed to get a message about his next court date to his girlfriend about his next court date. I said I would and he could call tomorrow about a message back. He didn't see her in court but she was there.

He called this afternoon and I gave him the information. He was to call me on Wednesday if I needed to tell him something I would accept the charges if not I wouldn't. So tonight he calls again. I refused twice and picked up the third call. He gave me his visiting hours to give his girlfriend. I told him he had his 3 calls and that was it.

I thought I was done with this stuff with the boys.
Live well, laugh often, and love much.

(((Indiana))) It is hard to know how many more chances to give a person when they are testing 'hitting bottom.'

Dinner is over and I'm off to bed even though it is early. I just can't manage because I have a headache and am exhausted. I was going to run the dishwasher but think I'll wait until the morning because there's room for breakfast dishes.

See you all tomorrow.

More rain Tuesday here. LOL no snow. Lots of rain systems through most of eastern 1/3 of the this continent - and top 1/3 has mormal monsoons (and odd cyclone). Yesterday groups of picnicers (in central Q) were swept away by a wall of water. By providence a swift water rescue crew were there for someone else, and a young guy with a long rope "just happened " to be there. Tragically 1 drowned but it could have been much worse.
Sunday was 1 yr anniversary for our worse fire (173 lost) . I have lot of tears for these and more lately.

Indiana - Congrats on graduating from home nursing. re nephew - here stats are that while prisoners have family who care they are more likely to reform. Doesn't mean to be a soft touch, but you and his gf are the hope that he has, Prayers for him to turn his life around.

Harriet - glad HRH is finally on the mend.

Helia - So glad the dishwasher fire has a better ending.

I need move. time to eat. (I've lost weight not looking after myself)
Just Now the rain stopped its steamy.
You people are getting to me. I dreamed of vacuming. ;)

Well, from my current perspective, it is a GREAT idea to wait until the morning to run the dw, Kathryn! Especially if you're at home while it's running. Dh says he's never again going to run the dw while sleeping. :?

I just realized a funny quandary I have. The firemen and dh moved the dishwasher to the front lawn, not too far from the house. The insurance adjustor is coming Wednesday morning to look at the damage, including the dishwasher. Well. . . . you can probably see the problem. . . . The dishwasher may be buried under 10" of snow Wednesday a.m!! :D So, ds and I are going to try to move it under the roof overhang tomorrow. If we're not strong enough to do it, I might see if a neighbor can help us.

Doing the Happy Happy Puppy Dance over Indiana's Graduation. :D

((((MT))))) hope you get some relief soon. Hoping the bed change up will help.

Helia - YEAH for the air cleaner and crew getting the smoke out!

YEAH for HRH!! Glad he is starting to feel a little better and hopefully the worst is behind him.

YEAH for Smile's DMom good surgery!!

Kathryn - Setting up phpBB for Church Bible group is one of my retirement to-do's. In theory it sounds like a wonderful way to share with each other. I hope it works out well. I'm impressed with Indiana & your computer savvy.

I had a great day in getting things done, but didn't get near what I had hoped to accomplish. LO received FIVE shots today so my main focus became snuggling with a cranky young'um. Everything else will get done later.

Hello to all!
Well, my little things today were very little.
[ ] Groceries w/dh
[ ] Called church for info on wedding  NOT OURS!!! Just thought I'd throw that out to get your attention, LOL. D2ndcousin wants to get married in our church this summer. I told her mom(d1stcousin) we may both be learning a lot about weddings this summer... * sigh * * shudder * Y'all can read my prayer request in J&C...
[ ] Tried to call payroll office re: withholdings, had to leave message
[ ] Got a good bit accomplished at school but y'all would not BELIEVE how much more there is to do. This is the week of our big fundraiser in newspaper. We will be sorting and labeling about 300 "candy grams" tomorrow & Wednesday.
Also sell the paper this week, so it's extra busy on that count, too.
PLUS, I'm giving a test tomorrow and I don't have the copies made for that, either. * sigh *

Saw ddad at Walmart. He pulled up beside us as we were putting groceries in car, rolled down his window and said, "I don't know if y'all know me or not; my name is ___ ___." He was laughing, but I know he gets aggravated when he doesn't get "face time" with us, but I have just been swamped lately. I don't guess I've actually seen dparents since Christmas, except once, and they live less than 10 miles away! That is pretty embarrassing... and that once was when ddad stopped by here for something. Of course, I talk to them two or three times a week, usually.

Came home and slept till dh got back from his parents... ate supper and slept some more. Can we all guess what I'll be doing at midnight???

(((Lyn)))

Lots of rain here, too, although just a little north of us, school was out early for snow again today.

(((Indiana))) I know it must be such a fine line to walk, knowing how much to help nephew, when to practice tough love... but I know if anyone has the wisdom to do this right, it is you!

Sooo glad to hear HRH is doing so well!!! Harriet definitely needs a break from caregiver-duty!

Sooo glad to hear Smile's dmom is doing well!

(((Kathryn's dfriend)))

Waving to ALL & thinking of you ALL, but only using topic review to post replies.

Is Mystery okay? I haven't "seen" her here in so long. Special wave to Mystery! :D
Tomorrow is another day.

Posting tonight (this morning actually) even though most of you are probably snoozing away.

So enjoyed reading today's posts.
OKay sorry for dmage to your business.
Indiana, good luck with juggling things with DNephew.
Kathryn, glad you got that circuit figured out.
Helia, the upside of your fire is all your surfaces are being cleaned for you!
Harriet, we're pulling for HRH's swift recovery.
SmileLee, happy to see DMom is getting all fixed up properly.

Waving to everybody I missed, Lynlee, Sunny, Nancy, Lucy. I like "knowing" you all. I look at some websites for snow pictures, I always pick the states you guys live in. I think there will be a lot of pretty pictures soon.

Working my way through some family situations. Stress is at an all time high, but getting better. Had some shopping therupy this afternoon. Will need to do some more of that. Not feeling too great, my acid reflux has been just awful lately. I think it's aggravated by my stress. Got my bank and post office and grocery store chores done today anyway.

Oh, thinking about MT, I hope your hip feels better. Do you have a new bed ordered? Whenever I sleep on an air mattress, it feels cold to me and I wake up achey. Is your bed like that?

I should be off to bed. We had a fire tonight and it was very pretty but I fell asleep for a couple hours. See ya tomorrow.

I'm not snoozing. Working on school stuff.

Harmony's post reminded me -- meant to send good wishes to OKay re: business damage, also, and for MT w/her hip pain... and for ALL of you where the snow may be more problem than pleasure.

I will be going to bed soon. Y'all take care and have a good day Tuesday.
Tomorrow is another day.
